Setting

Well since Percy and his friends go on quests there are a lot of areas in these books. I would have to say though that Camp Half-Blood, which is in Manhattan, New York is the main place in these books. Camp Half-Blood is basically the only place that is in all the books so that's why I said that it was the main area. In the camp are twelve cabins, but whose cabins they are I won't reveal because that would be a spoiler I think(if you haven't read the first one).

In The Sea of Monsters, the main areas are on ships, and of course sailing on The Sea of Monsters, which is also the Bermuda Triangle. In The Titans Curse the heroes, Percy and friends, go searching for two captured people whom I can't name because of spoilers. I will say however that the two captured are hostages at Mount Tamalpais, California. So I suppose that they spend a while in California in The Titans Curse. I wouldn't say its a rich economy in either book, but its not poor either. I mean on one hand you have half-bloods who don't have much money, then you have the Gods who can create their own money. Oh, and the time period is right now; we just can't see the monsters through the mist. The mist is basically a mist that hides the monsters true form. It is hard to explain the mist, so I won't even try. You'll just have to read the book to find out what the mist is I guess.

Sorry if I spoiled part of the books for anyone, I tried my best not to. Maybe you all should do me a favor and read the series so I won't spoil anything.

  1. I just saw an advertisement for The Lightening Theif movie. Do you suppose it will be any good? A lot of times these fantasy genre books don't translate into movies very well. Our imaginations are much more vivid than any director can put on a screen.

  2. Well it is hard to tell if it "will" be good, and the first time I saw an advertisment was when I was at the theaters. Only a few notable questions popped into my mind. Annabeth is a brunette? Grover is African American? They fight the hydra, when the hydra makes its appearance in The Sea of Monsters? Although some "things" in the movie will be different from the book I still think that the movie will be great. The coolest thing though is that The Lightning Theif hits theaters February 10th... a single day after my birthday, or at least I thought it was pretty cool. The only thing I advise before watching it in theaters is that the people going should read at least two of the books so they dont get lost during the movie. I believe that like most books that turn into movies, that the books will be better. The truth is though that most people are to lazy to read, and think that if they saw the movie then they read the book. They just don't know what their missing.
